![]() ![]() Ten-year-old Mandy has lived almost her entire life in an orphanage, under the care of Matron Bridie and the other staff. Hopping back into the world of a favorite childhood book is always a little scary will it have held up? Will there be cringeworthy moments that have you wincing and thanking the literary gods that we’ve moved on from that? I’m happy to say that Mandy, fortunately, has stood the test of time. The hills are alive with the sound of beautifully written children’s books, y’all!) wasn’t something that would have appealed to my son when he was young, so I was delighted that I was able to share it with my daughter. I don’t believe in ‘girl books’ or ‘boy books,’ just different books for different kids. ![]() One of the best parts of having kids is getting to reread my childhood favorites. ![]()
